Learn how to plant birds in a way that sets your dog up for success. Understand wind direction and how to properly hunt with your dog to create effective, productive searches. We’ll also cover field gun safety and help you work toward becoming a vetted field gunner.

About the event

Learn how to plant birds in a way that sets your dog up for success. Understand wind direction and how to properly hunt with your dog to create effective, productive searches. We’ll also cover field gun safety and help you work toward becoming a vetted field gunner.


Focus of the training will be:

  • Bird Planting

  • Wind Direction & Scent Cones

  • Field Search

  • Steadiness

  • Field Gun Safety


Those that have not completed waivers cannot participate

Wear clothing and footwear for the weather

Blaze orange clothing must be worn in the field when participating in training activities

All dogs much be up to date on shots

All dogs must be staked out or crated at all times other then working in the field

Any bitches in heat will be run last

Be sure to bring lots of water, food and snacks for you and your dog(s)
